Great features and very efficient!

I've had the induction range for several weeks and have been extremely satisfied. I was leary about switching to an induction cooktop, but I'm so glad I did. It's quicker to heat up, very even temperatures, and the oven, with its convection features is wonderful.

VERY disappointed!! Not a good product

Submitted by Sal - 2/8/2016

I no longer own this stove. Bought three years ago. After two years, the stovetop wouldn't work on one side. Error code F47. Certified Maytag repair person. Said would cost over $450.00 dollars to fix. Maytag was unwilling to help in any way. Didn't stand behind product. Less than a year later rest of stovetop went out & it nearly caught fire. That was enough for me.

Submitted by J the baker - 12/6/2015

I wanted an induction range for a long time and when I found one that I liked for a great price, even through my range was working great I could not pass it up so I bought this range. I love it. It bakes great and the oven is huge and you can get a lot in it and it bakes great. I use the induction range all the time and except for having to buy new cookware to use it I have no complaints. The powerboil boils water extremely fast.

Needs Improvements

Submitted by Caldero - 9/23/2014

Noisy. Glass top shows smudges and smears; difficult to clean. Glass top discolored/damaged from use of cast iron skillet at high power. At lower induction settings, pulses on and off rather than reducing power. Not fine enough gradation between induction settings to afford precise temperature control. Range-top touch sensitive controls are difficult to see and to control (and they smudge). Range-top active induction cooking areas too strictly prescribed -- pot can't be but fractionally larger or smaller than designated cooking circle. Needs a larger cooking circle to accomodate family/party size pans.

Error messages and "Aqua-Lift"

Submitted by A109 - 7/13/2014

I've had the control panel, and the clock module ("just because" ... according to the repair technician ) replaced already, since the lock function would not UNLOCK the controls once they were locked. Now, after the first year warranty was over -- I repeatedly get the error message "FAULT DETECTED: DISABLE POWER TO CLEAR". This seems to indicate a sensor failure of the door lock, so now I need to order a replacement control panel ... again. The "aqua-lift" clean does absolutely nothing except waste my time, and consume energy. The window, although large, is very difficult to clean, and defeats the entire 'self-cleaning' feature. I've read all the reviews on this site, and a large number refer to the speed of boiling water - like Maytag invented induction current. Induction cooking IS fast - however - I'd rather my range functioned more like a light switch in my home. Turn ON, Turn OFF Not "Disable Power to clear", switch breaker OFF, wait two minutes, switch ON, resume cooking....repeat sometimes 4x per day, at times during the same cooking cycle. Oh, BTW (by-the-way)... the convection bake/broil feature works Ok, if the oven is perfectly level, you use the center rack, AND bump the temperature UP 25 degrees, as the CPU will lower it. At least on my whacko range from Maytag Hope this helps.

Better than electric or gas by far

Submitted by Bulkey - 5/1/2014

This induction range is amazing! Instant heat with no messy cooktop cleanup. I live in Florida and this gives off very little extra heat which is great! Oven is large and I use both convection and regular bake. I also have a gas unit at my summer cabin. I am swapping that out at the next trip up for the same Induction Range.

Love this stove!

Submitted by judys - 4/30/2014

Replaced my stove with the induction range with the convection oven. It is great for baking Christmas cookies (3 racks) and even baking. The induction stove top takes a while to get used to because there are no knobs - all electronic controls (something new after 43 years of knobs). However, I love the quick boiling of water with the power feature and when things are cooking higher - just select a lower number and it instantly responds. No worry about burning a potholder. Very happy with this purchase.

A Beautiful And Expensive Substandard Range

Submitted by CharlieFoodie - 4/30/2014

I've had the range five months. Repairs have been performed four times: ** two times for the cooktop -- the controls weren't working. ** two times for the oven -- a new convection fan assembly, and a new "board" for the controls on the back panel. The cooktop works fine now. The placement of the large burner is inconvenient, on the back-right side. The range also appears works, but the oven has hot spots and cooks food unevenly -- which isn't how convection is supposed to work. The control panel, after being replaced, continues to not function correctly. The timer, and delay cook features aren't functional. INDUCTION AND CONVECTION ARE NOT NEW TECHNOLOGIES: WHAT KEEPS MAYTAG FROM GETTING IT RIGHT, AT THIS PRICE POINT?

Submitted by dreamguard - 4/7/2014

have had no trouble so far after about 6 months. rapid boiling, good heat control. controls a bit hard to figure at first, but now no issues. any liquid spilling in the control area and you have to go back and re-set your selections. biggest problem is that there is a vent space between the 2 door glass panels. this vent is at the top of the door facing forward, and I have gotten liquid running down between the glass, where it is impossible to clean. really annoying. Even cleaning the vent w/ a rag too wet will send liquid into no-mans'-land. otherwise great range and nothing else really in the market at this price point.

Submitted by Rick325 - 3/12/2014

Very simply put, I love it. My wife has never liked gas so 54 years of marriage I put up with the electric range I did not like. When I discovered induction I talked her into it seeing as how I use it more than she does anyway. It's response is the next thing to the instantaneous of gas. I have not burned anything yet and believe Maytag to be a product I can trust. We bought a Maytag stack-able washer dryer 5 years ago. My wife washes for the most part daily and she has not yet been able to wear it out.

The induction cooktop is one of many great features

Submitted by Raelynn - 3/10/2014

I was considering switching to gas range, but the salesman showed me how quickly the induction range gets hot and boils water then immediately cools down, which makes it easier to keep clean than other smooth cook tops. It saved the expense of piping the gas line to the kitchen. The convection oven is larger because there is no fan that sticks out from the back. It bakes evenly and adjusts the temperature. I was also surprised at how much I have been using the warming drawer feature. I have not tested the low temp/water oven selfclean system yet but I love the concept.

So far, and it has only been a few weeks, I absolutely love the Range. The baking is great, but best of all is the induction top. It boils water so fast. It took forever for our last stove to do that. Longevity is really important to me and I have only had this for a few weeks so we shall see.

Induction Value

Submitted by InductionJunkie - 2/25/2014

I had a GE induction cooktop many years ago and loved it so I was very happy to see prices come down on induction ranges. When it came time to replace my ancient stove, I chose the Maytag as I thought it offered a good balance of features and price. I recommend it but with some reservations. First of all, the generic manual that came with it (it seems there's only one for all Maytag electric stoves) gave incorrect information on how to change the oven temperature but I figured it out. More problematic is the fact that the controls aren't very responsive when my fingers are wet. I don't know about everyone else, but my fingers are often wet when I'm cooking and it's frustrating if I can't quickly turn off the stove when something's about to boil over. There's also one thing that's designed badly. The stove top has to be turned on and then you have to select which burner to adjust before you can select the temperature. Each time you go to change the temperature, you have to first choose the burner, unless you're cooking on only one element. In that case, you don't have to readjust. The cooktop I had before had a separate control for each burner so the extra step of choosing the burner before adjusting a burner wasn't necessary. This extra step is annoying. That said, I'm really enjoying induction cooking again, including the incredibly fast time it takes to boil a big pot of water. It's also the safest choice as the burners get uncomfortably warm but won't burn your hand and automatically turn off if there's no pot on a burner or if one boils dry. Since it doesn't get very hot (the stove heats the pot which cooks the food, rather than cooking it directly), food is relatively easy to clean off the cooktop when it cools. I haven't had to clean the oven yet so I can't comment on that. As far as I'm concerned, induction offers the best of electric (easy clean up of the smooth cooktop) and gas cooking (instant temperature control). This stove is a good choice if you want to take advantage of induction technology without paying an arm and a leg but with a little more thought it could have been great.

This stove has exceeded my expectations

Submitted by Sadie102 - 2/17/2014

I did quite a bit of research on induction stoves before I purchased this model. The stove has exceeded all of my expectations. Consistency of heat application and ease of cleanup is at the top of my list. I also appreciate the extra large window for viewing items as they bake. I haven't tried the oven cleaning feature as yet, but fully expect it to also be a 5-star performance. The only reason I gave features a "good" is because I have had trouble setting the timer without turning off the oven temp. Once I get accustomed to the button sequence, I'm sure it will be fine.

Impressive cook top

Submitted by wahoo - 1/16/2014

I grew up with gas, but our current house does not allow us that option. I could not stand the electric cook top that came with it. After a considerable amount of research, I decided induction was the way to go. Fate forced my hand when our oven shorted out. The Maytag was the best deal in stock locally. Turns out that it was an excellent choice. It boils water like nobody's business and the temperature control is instantaneous. The convection oven is also the most even oven we have ever baked with.

Love the induction cooktop!

Submitted by Camille33 - 1/9/2014

Would highly recommend this stove. Love the induction...it is amazing to have water boil so quickly...in about 90 seconds. Plus, because the burners don't stay hot when stainless steel pan removed, nothing gets "burnt" nor "stuck" to the glass top, so is super easy to clean the cooktop. I've been using spray cleaner or water and a microfiber towel. No need for "blades" or special cooktop cleaner regularly like required on our previous glass cooktop! Also, cooktop controls are at the front of the cooktop, so never have to reach over hot food to adjust the burners. Inside, there are three oven racks and is spacious with narrow warming drawer underneath. We even cooked two 12 lb. turkeys side by side at Thanksgiving! Furthermore, the stainless steel/black color combo looks great with our granite countertops and stone/glass backsplash. Definitely a smart purchase!

Disappointing

Submitted by Disappointedcook - 12/26/2013

I wish I could say I was thrilled, but actually I am pretty disappointed. While the range is stylish and the induction stovetop functions, the control pad on the stovetop is poorly located and subject to being accidentally turned off or beeping excessively if something is set atop it. The oven does not seem to heat evenly and is so poorly insulated that it heats the cabinets next to it. The control panel for the range is very dark and difficult to read, somewhat unresponsive and the convection oven setting automatically reduces the cook temperature setting, which somewhat defeats the convection benefit of shorter cooking times. The oven takes a long time to preheat and the audible alarm that signals that the temp or time has been reached sounds like a weak baby bird. The heating drawer is a joke, it will only hold the most shallow of pans. All in all, I'd say for the money, there are much better functioning units out there (although not induction), but the induction doesn't make up for the overall failure of this unit. Maybe Maytag should stick to laundry products.

I do wish the rear panel controls were lighted as they're very difficult to read. That would make this range almost perfect! I haven't used the oven enough yet to get it dirty enough to try the cleaning process but I'm hoping it performs as well as the induction cooktop does.

Submitted by Kath8 - 11/5/2013

This stove was a birthday gift to me from my husband. I had been looking at them for almost a year but was unable to afford one until now. The stove is made extremely well and both the stove top and oven are easy to clean. The stove top heats up quickly and can boil water for tea in about two minutes, when you turn the burner off the stove immediately cools down. It is a great feature! It took awhile to get used to the 'humming' sound the stove top makes when it heats up but it is not overly loud or irritating to listen to. It has easy to use features and a large capacity both on the stove top and inside the stove. I love my stove!

Induction is the way to go

Submitted by JanS - 11/5/2013

I love the induction cooktop. Quick heat like with gas, yet no hot stovetop and no burning of food that leaks over the pots and pans. If you haven't tried it, do try, induction is the way to go. The oven is good and the bun-warmer a nice feature, although I might have preferred a simple storage drawer. Very energy efficient and safe. Good if you have small kids that want to 'help' cooking.

Another great product from Maytag

Submitted by GaryB - 11/4/2013

I was ushered into the 21st century of cooking. I always thought I would like to have a gas range but that changed with induction cooking. The instant temp. controls and the power boost features are great. Another benefit of using induction cooktops is no more scorching on the bottoms of the cookware. Love it! The oven temp. is even and baking is a dream. No more having to turn pans to get even browning. I haven't had it long enough to comment on the cleaning ability of the oven but am sure it will perform as advertised. The only thing that I am not fond of is the black surface cooktop. Cleaning it so that it is streak free is tiresome. But then, I may be a little too fanatical. It is like my touch screen devices where that is a problem also. All in all a great product.

The only drawback for me is that the control pad for the oven features is not as responsive as I'd like. It takes greater effort to push the buttons than I think it should.

Amazing Induction Range and Convection Oven

Submitted by Oak23 - 10/29/2013

I love my Maytag Induction Range and Convention oven. The oven has a large amount of space and heats evenly. The induction works better than gas or electric and is safe to have with little kids in the house since the element only works with a magnetic pan. The only down side is having to have pans that are magnetic, but that isn't hard to find.

My Wife Loves It

Submitted by Ozzie27 - 10/29/2013

We enjoy the oven (regular and convection) and the induction cooktop features. The food comes out perfect each time. We bought a cast iron grill pan for the induction cooktop, so we can use it for quick and easy grilling. I had to convince my wife that we should get this oven, and now she loves it. She also really likes the food warming drawer. The black glass cooktop is easy to keep clean and to keep looking good, which is a major aesthetic and functional upgrade over the electric coils on the old stove top. We're looking forward to using the new oven this Thanksgiving.

Haven't really used it enough to do a good review. Like that the range turns off immediately. Do not like that it beeps constantly when on. It also brings water to a boil with amazing speed and cooking results have been good.

Outstanding preformance

Submitted by Chefskip - 9/2/2013

After 4 days of canning and preparing meals, I would highly recommend this product to anyone. As I have read over most of the reviews from other people from various sites, I have found most are at fault. We hear no loud fans or popping sounds, just quick 1,2,3, and you done cooking. I will reserve the mark for durable after more testing of the product.

Another satisfied customer

Submitted by Mimi1003 - 7/29/2013

Overall very satisfied with the product. We have baked several kinds of treats in the oven & all have turned out great, the convection oven performs very well. My husband had to get used to induction cooking, we've saved a few almost boil overs with how quickly the temperature can be adjusted. The cook top beeps when we're wiping it clean & when we (my husband) places anything on top of the control panel, it's a little sensitive that way. I haven't had to use the aqua lift technology yet, but am looking forward to it.

I love this Induction stove!

Submitted by Oregoncooking - 5/30/2013

The Induction stove is amazing! It is so fast and I am a better cook now. When making omlets there is no waiting around for the pan to heat up. Boiling in 90 sec is awesome. When it is about to over boil I can touch one button and instantly the boil changes. To simmer is a dream too...one touch of the button! I live out in the country and only have electric. I was sad not to have my gas stove...and saw this as an alturnative. This isn't an alturnative to gas ... induction is better then gas! Less heat, faster and easy to clean!!! I love it!

Won't quit beeping

Submitted by Johndeere - 5/3/2013

Repairman is here while I am writing this. Oh yeah this is the 4th time. I think everything will be replaced this time. It works great when it works without the stovetop shutting down or the alarm going off when you use the oven. Time will tell if this fixed or continues to be a problem.

Good product, super fast induction heat

Submitted by Irvineguy - 4/11/2013

By using induction technology, this range heat up really fast. I would say twice as fast compare to my old GE electric range. And it's pretty quiet, easy to clean.

Submitted by ann54 - 4/8/2013

The induction stove works very well. You can really adjust the temperature. It is a breeze to keep clean, just wet paper towel & you are done. The oven has 3 shelves. I tried it on Easter & used all 3 shelves at once & everything came out perfectly. It is quite a large oven & the door makes seeing inside so easy

I love the induction cooktop.

Submitted by Mamabear - 4/3/2013

I've been pleased with this range, but I have struggled to get used to having the controls for the cooktop on the front part of the cooktop. I am constantly placing my arm on the controls while cooking which changes the settings. It's also tough to not place pans/cookie sheets on that part of the cooktop. I do love the induction cooking though! It boils water amazingly fast and is like cooking with gas. The conventional oven cooks very nicely, but I'm still learning about the convection oven. It seems to take such a long time for the convection oven to preheat, so I'm not saving any time by using it.
